The way to Peace through dialog between cultures and religions, the effort against marginalization, the safeguarding and appreciation of the environment for sustainable development, and the rebirth of human values were the themes of the “Third World Conference for the Peace and Welfare of Peoples” which took place in Arezzo, in the historic Monastery of Sargiano, from 4 to 11 June 2005 under the Auspices of the United Nations and the European Commission.
The Conference, organized by the International Association Man Center in collaboration with the World Ecumenical Center and chaired by Pier Franco Marcenaro, saw the participation of experts from five continents. The Final Report, signed by 50 Italian delegates and 50 from other countries, suggests viable ways with which to face the serious issues of the contemporary world.
